What makes a great kitchen

People

Your daily routine and family life guide how the room should be planned. The intention is to form a space around you and the people who use it every day.

Purpose

I start by looking at the scale and layout. Clever storage and beautiful materials are then layered in, ensuring the room becomes a true pleasure to live in.

Details that matter

The finest kitchens are built from many small decisions working together. I consider how a drawer closes and the proportions of a cabinet. I observe where light falls and the relationship between storage and movement. Materials and finishes should still feel relevant years from now. Timber with depth, stone with character, metal that acquires a patina with time.

Together, these choices are the driving force behind good design.
